Spending time on Birmingham's Canals will make you happier and healthier!

The Canal & River Trust are promoting Englands waterways as a 'natural health service' that can help us feel better for free. We are so lucky in Birmingham to have our beautiful canals with their wild life and calming aura which, after a long and stressful week, are the perfect way to detox from our busy technology focused lives and simply be in nature at the heart of Birmingham City Centre.

As the autumnal leaves fall and the dark evenings draw in it can be easy to hibernate under duvets however we encourage you to enjoy our beautiful canals with their vibrant colours and wildlife.

Take a look at the Canal Map on the Canal and River Trust website. Ju Ju and I love walking our wee dog Oscar from Ju Ju's Cafe up the New Mainline Canal then taking a left to Icknield Port Loop then off the canal and over to Edgbaston Reservoir which is a beautiful oasis in the middle of our lovely city. Be sure to take some boots or wellies in the winter as the reservoir can be a little muddy!

Here is a picture of our gorgeous Oscar sporting our brand colour whilst on a walk which is, of course, essential to this blog post.

So this weekend plan a long walk around the canal and on your way back into Birmingham's City Centre drop by and enjoy a hearty home cooked meal with us - better yet pre-book your Sunday Roast!
